Tardy Policy

A student is considered tardy if he/she is not in the classroom when the bell rings. Students out of location (in the halls or not in the classroom without a pass when the tardy bell rings) will receive a detention. Additional tardiness will result in an intervention by the administration. All discipline is cumulative and persistent infractions will result in additional consequences. (See Student Handbook, p. 85.)

Cell Phone Policy

The District prohibits the use of all telecommunication devices including cellular phones at all schools during the instructional school day. Students may possess these devices while attending school-sponsored or school-related activities on or off school property.

Students who violate this policy shall be subject to established disciplinary measures which constitute a Level 3 offense. District employees shall confiscate any telecommunication device used during the instructional day, 7:00 a.m. through 3:45 p.m. A device shall be returned after the first offense for a fee of $15.00, and the student may face a disciplinary consequence. If a second offense occurs the device shall be retained by the District for 30 days, and returned to the student’s parent for a fee of $15.00. A third offense will result in the device being retained by the district for the remainder of the school year. Parents then may retrieve the device for a $15.00 fee.

Parents shall be notified within two school days after the telecommunication device is confiscated. All telecommunication devices not claimed by the end of the year shall be disposed of by the district. (See Student Handbook, p. 54.)
